Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton has been dealing with many injuries throughout his NBA career. During the offseason, he had surgery on his ankles.
There are many questions about his health entering the 2024-2025 season. The Milwaukee Bucks are in win-now mode and they will need him to be healthy.
Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Doc Rivers Provides Update About Khris Middleton’s Health During Media Day
NBA training camp is right around the corner and the Bucks and other NBA teams met with the media on Monday for media day. Head coach Doc Rivers provided a massive update on what to expect from Middleton in training camp. Rivers said to the media:
“He’ll participate in camp. We won’t have him doing a lot of live-action, coming off of surgery and all that. But all our skeleton and transition work, conditioning work, he’ll be on the floor with us.”
The good news is that he will be participating in camp, but the bad news is that he may not be in game shape by the time the 2024-2025 NBA season begins. If Middleton is healthy, he is projected to be in the Bucks starting lineup this season.
Middleton Adds His Comments
Along with Doc Rivers speaking to the media on Monday, Khris Middleton also spoke to the media about his injury. He also said to the media about the upcoming regular season:
“I haven’t had one conversation about that yet, my focus is getting to training camp and back to five-on-five.”
The Bucks will open the NBA season on the road on October 23 against the Philadelphia 76ers. If Middleton is not ready for the season by then, it will be interesting to see who will replace him in the starting lineup.
Last season, he averaged 24.7 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 4.7 APG, and shot 48.2% from the field. Khris Middleton is the third-scoring option on this team. The leading scorers for the Bucks last season were Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
