The basketball world is currently so fixated on the Milwaukee Bucks’ newly-formed superstar duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard — and rightfully so. After all, this pairing could easily turn out to be one of the greatest partnerships in the history of the league. Not to mention, potential NBA champs in the near future.
At this point, it would be easy to overlook the fact that Khris Middleton is still in Milwaukee. Opposing teams must not make this mistake.
Khris Middleton Speaks Out on Milwaukee Bucks Big 3
Middleton has now shared his thoughts not only Milwaukee’s new superstar tandem, but instead, their Big 3. He is, of course, the third member of this newly established trio — one that Middleton expects to meet all the lofty expectations people have of them this coming season:
“Khris told me yesterday he expects all three to have a career year,” league insider Chris Haynes said on a recent episode of his podcast, via Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report. “That’s saying a lot.”
Chemistry will obviously be an issue not only between Giannis, Lillard, and Middleton but for the rest of the squad as well. For his part, Dame has not had the chance to play on such a star-studded team in the past, so there will be adjustments needed on his end. Antetokounmpo and Middleton haven’t had the opportunity to play with a point guard of Lillard’s caliber either, so they too will need to make the necessary adjustments.
No disrespect is meant to Jrue Holiday, but at the end of the day, he’s no Damian Lillard.
Will Khris Middleton Be X-Factor?
With so much attention gravitating toward Giannis and Lillard, Middleton could be in store for a big year ahead. The two-time All-Star is coming off a forgettable 2022-23 campaign that was mired by injury, and he’s clearly looking to bounce back this term. So long as he is healthy, Middleton could prove to be the X-factor for the Bucks this year — especially if teams make the fatal error of underestimating what this man brings to the table.
