To say that it was an eventful offseason for the Milwaukee Bucks would be a massive understatement. Even before they struck a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard’s blockbuster trade, the front office had to contend with the massive challenges that were brought about by NBA free agency.
Khris Middleton’s future was their biggest concern earlier this summer, and there’s no denying that Bucks fans breathed a collective sigh of relief the moment the three-time All-Star put pen to paper on a big-money contract extension.
Khris Middleton Gets Honest on Milwaukee Bucks Extension
As it turns out, even Middleton himself had to go through a bit of anxiety leading up to his new deal. While it was generally known that the Bucks were going to extend his deal, Middleton recently revealed that some doubt crept in because of his struggles over the past couple of seasons:
“It feels great,” Middleton said on finally signing that extension, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “It was a little nervous for a little bit, just because the way last year went, the last two years being disappointing. Never want to be in and out of the lineup because of injuries; never want to lose in the first round again.
“So, to be back, I’m extremely happy. My family’s happy; I’m happy. I’m excited about the future that we have for these next three years that I’m here, and hopefully we can win a couple more championships. That would be nice.”
Brighter Days Ahead for Khris Middleton
As he said in his revelation, Middleton has been far from his best over the past two years. Last season, in particular, was a forgettable campaign for the 6-foot-7 small forward as he struggled with injuries all year long. As such, you can’t really blame him for having his doubts about the direction the team was going to take in free agency.
In the end, however, it all worked out. The Bucks decided to extend Middleton’s tenure by signing him to a new three-year deal worth $102 million. At 32, this could very well be the last big-money deal in Middleton’s career.
It goes without saying that Milwaukee will expect to get some return on their investment this coming season.

Middleton must take it upon himself take preventative measures to insure that nagging injuries don’t occur ie achilles, acl or other ligaments, ankles, knees etc.Sports medicine folk say there things th!t can be done, but many pro athletes do do them, they are too lazy etc
