While some Milwaukee Bucks supporters might be celebrating the departure of Adrian Griffin, there’s no denying that his exit has left a dark cloud looming over the entire squad. Giannis Antetokounmpo himself admitted that he was hurt by the team’s tough decision to get rid of Griffin, which likely speaks on the type of emotions the players have had to go through in the past 48 hours or so.
Milwaukee Bucks Vet Khris Middleton Heaps Praise on Adrian Griffin
For Bucks star Khris Middleton, it was important for him to share his honest thoughts on Coach Griff now that the latter is in the process of moving on. Speaking to the press after Milwaukee’s 126-116 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, Middleton had nothing but good things to say about his now-former coach:
“I hate to say it’s a business,” Middleton said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “I’ve been in a season where this happened before and it’s unfortunate. Griff was great while he was here. He did everything he could and he helped us win a lot of games. I just wish him nothing but the best of luck going forward.”
Said like a true professional. As he stated, Middleton has been hardened by all these sudden and unexpected developments through the years. It’s not that he’s jaded or unemotional, but rather, Middleton now has a deep understanding of how things work in this league.
Nevertheless, this doesn’t take away from the fact that bidding farewell to a man whom you worked with virtually every single day for the past seven months remains a very difficult task.
