The Milwaukee Bucks have not had many trades of any interest this offseason. There were times this offseason were players like Brook Lopez, Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis Jr., and others were mentioned in trade rumors.
General manager Jon Horst has received backlash from the fanbase this offseason with some of the moves he has made. The Milwaukee Bucks will be in win-now mode this season with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard at the helm.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report Has Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson As 1 of 3 Potential Trade Targets For the Milwaukee Bucks
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report listed three potential trade targets for each NBA team before the start of the 2024-2025 season. For the Milwaukee Bucks, one of his trade targets for them is a former second-round NBA Draft pick, Jordan Clarkson. Swartz said about Clarkson:
“As a second apron team, the Milwaukee Bucks face a lot of restrictions in potential trades, including not taking on any additional salary. This means searching for players like Clarkson who can make a big impact while playing on a reasonable contract ($14.1 million).
The former Sixth Man of the Year averaged 17.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists for the Jazz last season and would join a Bucks bench that also potentially features Bobby Portis, Taurean Prince and Delon Wright.”
Clarkson would no doubt provide a massive spark to the Milwaukee Bucks off the bench. He is 32 years old. They signed Delon Wright to be the backup point guard to Damian Lillard. When Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are on the bench, Jordan Clarkson would be able to provide offense to this team.
It was also a huge deal when they signed Gary Trent Jr. to a one-year deal this summer. Trent Jr. did not receive a new contract with the Toronto Raptors. Also, Jordan Clarkson will not be a free agent until after the 2025-2026 season. The Milwaukee Bucks are contenders now and the Utah Jazz are in no man’s land in a very tough Western Conference.
They Traded For Damian Lillard In September Of Last Year
Last year, the Milwaukee Bucks traded for Damian Lillard in September. It was right before the start of the 2023-2024 season. That trade was a massive blockbuster deal between the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers, and also Milwaukee. Jrue Holliday was also traded to Portland, before he was traded to the Boston Celtics and helped them win an NBA title this past season.
Maybe general manager Jon Horst will make another move for Jordan Clarkson or someone else before the start of the 2024-2025 season. Two of the other names that Bleacher Report mentioned as potential trade candidates are Kriss Dunn of the Los Angeles Clippers and Keon Ellis of the Sacramento Kings.
