The Milwaukee Bucks currently trail 0-2 in the series against the Indiana Pacers and Game 3 will not be until Friday night. There is a chance that the Bucks flame out once again for the third consecutive season in the first-round.

If that happens, will there be wholesale changes? Will Jon Horst be kept in the front office? Will they trade Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard? Those are questions that Bucks ownership will have to answer after the season potentially.
Milwaukee Bucks General Manager Jon Horst Receives Contract Extension On Thursday

Before Game 3 of the Pacers and the Bucks series, ESPN’s Shams Charania made a shocking announcement regarding Horst’s future with the team. Charania said,
“The Milwaukee Bucks and general manager Jon Horst have agreed to a multiyear contract extension, sources tell ESPN. The Bucks and Horst’s agent, Brian Elfus, reached a new deal this week for the NBA championship executive and one-time exec of the year before his contract expired.”
This comes as a major surprise. It is interesting that this is done now before the series end. Are the Bucks trying to protect themselves from a public relations disaster? This was a major surprise on a random Thursday afternoon on NFL Draft day. The Bucks are trying to steal the spotlight from the NFL Draft taking place in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This extension did not have Bucks fans thrilled at all.

Impeccable timing, team is going to full shit and all his decisions have lead to shit and traded khris and future star AJ johnson for kyle kuzma and ends up getting an extension how I wish I could perform this badly at my job and get a raise and keep it

He doesn’t know how to assemble a competitive team. He can’t draft.

An absolute abomination….Jon Horst has done his best to destroy the franchise every move he’s made since acquiring Jrue Holiday has depleted our assets or taken the Bucks further from a championship! This is NOT a good move for Milwaukee

Thought this was gonna say Doc fired FML

With Horst staying with the Bucks past the 2024-2025 season, it will be interesting to see what moves he would make in the offseason if they don’t get past the Pacers. There will be rumors about the Brooklyn Nets trying to heavily pursue Giannis Antetokounmpo. Was Horst kept only to be the guy to trade away Antetokounmpo?
If they were to trade him, the Bucks would be rebuilding, and it would mean that Damian Lillard would also be traded. There will be a lot of uncertainty this offseason if Horst has to make critical decisions once again for this franchise. The fanbase is very uncomfortable with this decision to extend him and they have every right to be also.
