The Milwaukee Bucks have returned to winning ways, huge thanks to their balanced game according to coach Doc Rivers.
The Bucks, who flopped big time against the New York Knicks 48 hours ago, used a hot first quarter to keep away the Kings who were the hottest team in the league coming into the game.
It did not matter that Khris Middleton is out as part of his bilateral ankle surgery management as the team clicked right in the first quarter.
Giannis Antetokounmpo again led the way with his triple double of 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. It is his 50th in his career. He also surpassed Dwight Howard in the NBA all-time scoring list by getting to no. 56.
Damian Lillard was also tremendous on both ends with his defense on the Kings’ guards while putting up 24 points, five rebounds and seven assists.
AJ Green was big time from the bench with his 16 points while Ryan Rollins, back from an illness that made him miss the loss against the Knicks, contributed 10 points.
DeMar Derozan scored 28 point for the Kings while De’Aaron Fox had silent 20 points.
Doc Rivers credits win to ball movement
Antetokounmpo pointed out the other day how they were unable to create space for teammates, leading to their low 3-point output.
The exact opposite happened against the Kings. From hitting just 10 threes two days ago, they made 17 on Tuesday from 45 attempts.
Rivers thought his team set the tone in the game, making the players comfortable.
“Just set the tone. We came out played the right way,” he said.
“The ball moved. I think 7 or 8 guys had over nine attempts. 45 3s. That just tells you the ball’s moving. I thought defensively, we matched the offensive effort. When we do that, we’re pretty good.”
