The Milwaukee Bucks marked their fourth win in five games on Saturday night with an important victory over the Atlanta Hawks. It was another tough battle throughout, but much like it has been for Milwaukee for the better part of the campaign, they elevated their level of play down the stretch to secure a 132-121 win over Trae Young and Co.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Sounds Off on Victory
Giannis Antetokounmpo was in a cheerful mood after the game. I guess anybody would have a smile on their face after dropping a 32-point, 11-rebound, 10-assist triple-double in a win.
The former back-to-back MVP vocalized just how delighted he is with one particular aspect of his team’s play during this recent run:
“I‘m satisfied right now, to be very honest with you, with guys being on the same page the last eight minutes of the game,” Antetokounmpo said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “It’s hard to be on the same page for 48 minutes, but at least, like in the last eight minutes, I feel like everybody’s on the same page. So I’m not trying to be greedy here. I wish it was 12 minutes. I wish was 24 minutes, but I’ll take those last eight minutes any time.”
As always, Giannis is still demanding more from himself and his team. After all, this relentlessness is exactly what makes him such a great player.
As he said, however, Antetokounmpo is very much pleased with the Bucks’ ability to step it up when it matters the most. More often than not, the fourth quarter — or as he put it, the final eight minutes of the game — is the most important stretch for any team.
Milwaukee deserves a ton of credit for being able to take their game to another level in clutch situations, which has resulted in this team being tied for the second-best record in the Eastern Conference at the moment.
