The Milwaukee Bucks have continued to disappoint Giannis Antetokounmpo in the postseason. After the 4-1 series loss against the Indiana Pacers, the Bucks have exited the postseason in the first round in three straight years. As the prospect of Antetokounmpo forcing his way out of or otherwise leaving Milwaukee continues to be a hot topic, NBA Legend Paul Pierce weighed in on the situation.

Paul Pierce Has Advice for Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Milwaukee Bucks have experienced another postseason letdown, dropping their second-straight series against the division-rival Indiana Pacers. After losing in 6 games last year without a healthy Giannis Antetokounmpo to lead them, the team lost in just 5 games this year. Notably, Damian Lillard was not healthy in this case.
In the Ticket & The Truth Podcast, hosted by Boston Celtics greats Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, the two NBA champions spoke on Giannis’ future in Milwaukee. Many media personalities have weighed in on the situation, which is sure to dominate NBA offseason headlines. Garnett and Pierce both have played under Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers during their careers.

Pierce had a decisive stance on if Giannis was better off spending the rest of his prime in Milwaukee or not.
“Giannis is 30, so he’s still got 6-7 more good years. It’s gotta be some difficult conversations between him and the owner. This marriage is over.”

Pierce pointed to next season specifically as one with a particularly dismal outlook due to the lack of draft assets and the health of his co-star, Damian Lillard.
“You can already assess that next year probably gonna be the same thing cause they ain’t getting no better. And, Dame is hurt, and even if he come back in say like, that’s a year, so like he might not even play next year.”
Pierce went on to say that the split should be welcomed by the Bucks organization. He recommended that Giannis be gentle with his request to exit and that the organization owes it to him to “honor” such wishes.

Will Giannis Antetokounmpo Actually Leave?
Giannis has still given no signs that he intends to request a trade or otherwise force his way out of the Cream City. While the media will pull apart or misquote any and everything said by the Greek superstar, the reality is that there is nothing concrete suggesting Antetokounmpo is done with Milwaukee. That being said, an objective assessment of the situation does lead many to think Antetokounmpo would be better off elsewhere in terms of winning his second championship.
While the media will spend all offseason digging into Antetokounmpo’s public comments, concocting trades with teams like the Houston Rockets, Bucks fans will have to survive an offseason where the team hopes to keep their core together. This year’s moves have not worked out favorably, and with limited assets, the team simply has to get things right if there is any chance Antetokounmpo would like to remain a part of it.
