The Milwaukee Bucks enter the 2024-2025 season with a championship-or-bust mentality. Giannis Antetokounmpo has won one NBA title and one NBA Finals MVP in his career up to this point.
A season ago, Antetokounmpo missed the final nine games of the 2023-2024 season because of a calf injury. The star player is looking to win another NBA Championship in his NBA career.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes Shocking Goal For the 2024-2025 NBA Season For the Milwuakee Bucks
With everyone calling for the Bucks to win an NBA title or it will be a failure, Antetokounmpo spoke to the media on Monday during media day. The star player decided to cool the temperature in the room about expectations for the 2024-2025 NBA season. Antetokounmpo said to Eric Nehm of The Athletic about the additions this offseason helping them potentially reach the conference or the NBA Finals:
“Conference Finals? Finals? We gotta get out of the first round first. Let’s start there.”
He is not wrong by any means with those comments. They have not gotten past the first round of the NBA playoffs for the past two seasons. They lost to the Miami Heat in five games in 2022-2023 and the Indiana Pacers in six games in 2023-2024.
Damian Lillard missed a couple of games in the Indiana Pacers series due to an injury. Giannis Antetokounmpo has had some bad injury luck and missed the entire Pacers series with a calf injury.
Young Players They Brought In
There were some moves that the Milwaukee Bucks made this offseason. One of the moves they made was signing Gary Trent Jr. They also signed Tauren Prince and Delon Wright in the offseason. Trent Jr. is expected to be in the starting lineup and Prince and Wright will be in the rotation off the bench.
The projected starting lineup for the Milwaukee Bucks this season will be Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Gary Trent Jr. This team has the talent to win a playoff series. If they don’t do that this season, changes will most likely be made.
