Giannis Antetokounmpo sat out again on Tuesday night as the Milwaukee Bucks took on the Memphis Grizzlies in their second preseason game. It did not stop Giannis’ teammates from honoring their talisman during the game, though.
At one point, big man Brook Lopez busted out a hilarious Giannis impersonation. I’m just not entirely sure this classifies as “honoring” his sidelined teammate.
Milwaukee Bucks Big Man Brook Lopez Goes Full Giannis

Early in the game, Lopez found himself in the middle of a Grizzlies sandwich down low. Instead of stopping on the play after a foul was called against his defender, the veteran big man decided to drive all the way to the hoop ala Giannis:

Brook Lopez is too funny, man.
Just shuffled through three defenders after the whistle. Finished with a layup at the rim. And then did a Giannis scream and flex after it.
Pointed at Giannis on the bench and Giannis pointed right back.

It’s the celebration that takes the cake for me. Lopez even pointed at Giannis on the bench, who himself returned the favor.

Unfortunately, the Bucks did not get the desired result out of this contest. They ended up on the losing end against Memphis, 108-102.
Lopez played just 10 minutes in this one, finishing with 10 points, two rebounds, a steal, and a block. Giannis, as mentioned earlier, did not even suit up for the contest.

The Bucks, who are now 1-1 in the preseason after their previous win against the Chicago Bulls, return to action on Sunday to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers. It remains to be seen, however, if Giannis (or Damian Lillard, for that matter) will be available for that one.
