Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo said he doesn’t regret shooting (and missing) a late three that eventually cost his team the loss against the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks were trailing 102-101. Gary Trent Jr. secured the rebound off a Jrue Holiday miss and gave it to Giannis Antetokounmpo with less than two minutes left. The Greek Freak would normally drive and attack the basket in transition, but instead, he went to the left wing and decided to hoist a three-pointer that missed, and Al Horford extended the Boston Celtics’ lead to four points with a three-pointer of his own.
“Coming down, I saw Al Horford backing up,” Antetokounmpo said via ESPN’s Tim Bontemps. “I felt like I could make it. Shot it. Went well, in my opinion. S***, if I had the chance to shoot it again, I’d shoot it again. I’ve made it multiple times, so I’d shoot it again.”
Milwaukee eventually lost 111-105, thus being on the wrong end of a regular season sweep by Boston. Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 30 points and 11 rebounds on 13-for-25 shooting from the field. His co-star Damian Lillard had 31 points (team-high), five rebounds, and four assists on 12-for-25 shooting from the field.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard did their best to carry the Milwaukee Bucks against the reigning NBA champions, especially since Brook Lopez, Taurean Prince, and Andre Jackson Jr. combined for only seven points.
Taurean Prince only played nine minutes since he left the game in the second half due to an illness. Gary Trent Jr. took his spot in the lineup and finished the match with 11 points, four rebounds, and three three-pointers in 37 minutes.
The returning Khris Middleton recorded 11 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals on 2-for-10 shooting from the field in 23 minutes off the bench.
