The Milwaukee Bucks could be without superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo for a second straight game on Friday. The former back-to-back MVP was unable to take part in Milwaukee’s blowout win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday due to a calf injury, and it looks like he could be sidelined again against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
Milwaukee Bucks Announce Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Status Vs. Hornets
The Bucks have already released their injury report for Friday’s contest and unfortunately, Antetokounmpo is once again listed as questionable to play. The right calf injury is still an issue, although Milwaukee also listed “injury management” as part of his designation for Friday’s showdown.
It is important to note that the Bucks are playing on a back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday. After the Hornets, Milwaukee takes on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks 24 hours later. Given his current situation, it would not be a complete shock if Giannis ends up sitting out at least one of these two games.
However, Anteotkounmpo being forced to miss both contests isn’t out of the question either.
With Giannis potentially out, it’s going to be Damian Lillard who will have to do most of the heavy lifting for the Bucks yet again. Dame did a tremendous job for the Bucks without Antetokounmpo, going off for 37 points and 13 assists against the Raptors on Wednesday.
If Giannis is out, we expect another massive outing for the seven-time All-Star point guard.
