After spending all of his NBA career playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo has achieved a good number of awards and broken key franchise records over the years. The thing is, their recent loss to the Miami Heat has given the All-Star forward an achievement nobody would ever want.
Throughout the course of his career, Antetokounmpo has won it all. He became champion in 2021 after the Bucks overcame the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Finals. Along with winning that year’s Finals MVP, the Greek Freak also won the award for the regular season twice.
Along with those accolades, Antetokounmpo has also appeared in eight All-Star Games, named to seven All-NBA teams, won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020, and the Most Improved Player award in 2014.
But after the Bucks endured a 123-97 loss against Miami, Antetokounmpo has been bestowed with an achievement nobody in the franchise would ever want.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Achieves Unwanted Milwaukee Bucks Milestone in Loss to Miami Heat
As it stands, Antetokounmpo is now the Milwaukee Bucks’ all-time leader in missed field goals. A report from the Journal Sentinel and tweeted by Jim Owczarski on X explains more:
“5,468: Career missed field goals for Giannis Antetokounmpo when he missed his first shot against Miami, moving him past Glenn Robinson for No. 1 in Bucks history. It is one of 16 career totals Antetokounmpo is first in. The only franchise totals he does not hold the top spot in are two-point field goal attempts (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), three-point field goals made and attempted (Khris Middleton), offensive rebounds (Marques Johnson) and steals (Quinn Buckner),” the report said.
On the other hand, though, Anetokounmpo holds the franchise record for most games played, total rebounds, assists, blocks, triple-doubles, points, and field goals, among others. Even if that’s the case, his recent milestone is one the Greek Freak would rather forget.
