Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is not getting nearly enough recognition for being as great as he is. Despite the fact that he is the only player in NBA history to average 30 or more points per game while shooting 60% from the field, he is often left outside of the top-two in NBA MVP voting. What is more, the Greek Freak has averaged 30 points per game while shooting 60% from the field two years in a row. No one in NBA history has even done it once.
There is no question that Giannis is one of the best players in the history of the game. After all, he was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team before he turned 30 years old, cementing himself among the all-time greats.
And this season, he accomplished something only six others did before him.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Averaged at Least 28 Points Per Game for the Sixth Time

This past season, Giannis played in 67 games and averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. It was the third time in his career, and third year in a row, that he averaged at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. He is now the NBA’s all-time leader in such seasons, having passed Oscar Robertson and Wilt Chamberlain, who both did it twice.
A historic achievement for the Greek Freak 😤

Not only that, this was the sixth consecutive season in which Giannis averaged at least 28 points per game. He is just the seventh player in NBA history to averaged that many points (or more) per game in at least six seasons.
The others are:
- Michael Jordan (11 times)
- Oscar Robertson (eight times)
- Wilt Chamberlain (seven times)
- Kevin Durant (seven times)
- LeBron James (six times)
- Jerry West (six times)
Incredibly, Giannis is just 30 years old and, presumably, has a long time left in his career. He could end up even higher all-time than many of the legends mentioned above by the time he decides to retire.
