With a 49-point first quarter, a large early lead, and 150 points in the game, the Bucks on January 23rd were able to get 14 of their 15 players in the game in their win over the Pistons. They fell short, however, of tying a pair of NBA records for three-point shooting.

Eleven Bucks made a three in Monday’s win over Detroit

Eleven of the 14 Bucks players who saw action in the game made a three-pointer. It was the first time this season that 11 players made a three-pointer for a team in the league. The players who made a three for the Bucks in that game: Giannis Antetokounmpo (2), Grayson Allen (1), Pat Connaughton (2), Joe Ingles (2), Jevon Carter (6), Jrue Holiday (1), Brook Lopez (2), MarJon Beauchamp (1), Khris Middleton (2), Wesley Matthews (2) and Bobby Portis (2).

Jordan Nwora, A.J. Green and Thanasis Antetokounmpo saw action in the game but did not make a three-pointer. Nwora was 0-for-4 on three pointers and Green missed his three three-point attempts. Thanasis did not attempt a three.

The Bucks ended the game making 23 of 52 three-point shots in the game.

Bucks hold NBA record for most players making a three in a game

The Bucks fell one player short of tying the NBA record for most players with a three-pointer made in a game with 12. The Bucks set that mark on December 29, 2020, in a 144-97 win over the Heat in Miami. Five Bucks players who had a three in this week’s game vs. Detroit were a part of the record-setting performance in Miami in 2020: Connaughton, Holiday, Lopez, Middleton and Portis. The seven other players who helped set the record for the Bucks in 2020 were Thanasis Antetokounmpo, D.J. Augustyn, Donte DiVencenzo, Bryn Forbes, Sam Merrill, Jordan Nwora and D.J. Wilson.

The Bucks were 29 of 51 in three-point attempts in that game.

Bucks one of six teams to have 14 players attempt a three in a game

Another record the Bucks fell short of in the Pistons’ matchup was most players to attempt a three-pointer in a game. Thirteen of the 14 players who played in the contest attempted at least one three-pointer in the game against the Pistons. Thanasis Antetounmpo played but did not attempt a three in the game.

The Bucks earlier this year became one of six NBA teams in history to have 14 players attempt at least one three-point shot in the same game. The Bucks tied the record on January 6, 2023, in Milwaukee in a 138-109 loss to Charlotte. Milwaukee had 14 players who played that night; all attempted at least one three-pointer in the game.
