Veteran big man Danilo Gallinari is still an NBA free agent. At 36 years old, the former Milwaukee Bucks big man is still hoping that there’s a team out there that will eventually sign him before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season. While there is an option for him to try his luck back home in Italy and continue his basketball career there, he appears to be hopeful that he’ll be on an NBA roster soon.

A return to Europe initially seemed like a real possibility. However, in an interview with ‘La Repubblica’, the former Olimpia Milano player declared that he wanted to continue looking for an opportunity in the NBA, excluding the possibility of a final season in the EuroLeague.
“A return to Italy? Not yet,” he replied.
“There is still time for [me in] the market, anything can happen at any time. Miami? It’s not my time yet, there are other free agents and we’ll decide later. It could be anywhere, as long as it’s a competitive franchise,” he argued.
Danilo Gallinari’s time with the Milwaukee Bucks
Gallinari was traded by the Washington Wizards to the Detroit Pistons last January but he only appeared in six games for the Motor City squad before getting waived.
He was then signed by the Bucks for the remainder of the 2023-24 NBA season, appearing in only 17 games and averaging 2.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.7 assists for Milwaukee. Gallinari also saw action for three games in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, coming up with just 11 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
