The Milwaukee Bucks are on a losing streak again. Following a 113-110 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, the Bucks suffered a 105-102 loss at Fiserv Forum again on Saturday at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers. Consecutive losses to teams outside of the playoff picture are not a great look on the Bucks, whose issues were raised after the Blazers game by head coach Doc Rivers.
Via Eric Nehm of The Athletic:
Doc Rivers: “Very, very (disappointing). It’s frustrating watching us play…We’re not playing right and it’s on both ends. Defensively, we’re getting beat off the dribble over and over again, getting beat on the glass. Offensively, I don’t see us playing with much pace.”
The Milwaukee Bucks still can’t find a cure for their post-NBA Cup malaise
The Bucks took 10 more attempts from the floor than Portland, but they were outrebounded by the Blazers by a huge margin, 55-43. Portland also shot better from the field, making 48.2 percent of their attempts to just 43.2 percent for Milwaukee. Khris Middleton went just 1-for-5 from the floor for two points in 26 minutes while Damian Lillard needed 15 attempts from the field to get to 16 points.
The Bucks’ loss to Portland was also their fourth in five games and fifth in eight outings since they won the NBA Cup championship game in Las Vegas against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Now just a game above .500 with a 17-16 record, the Bucks have a golden opportunity to snap their skid and return to their winning ways this Monday when they go up against the eight-win Toronto Raptors on the road.
