Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers understands why many fans like the team’s move of acquiring Kyle Kuzma in a three-team trade with the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks.

Rivers calls Kuzma a “massive” addition to their frontline that already has Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez, and Bobby Portis, especially with his championship experience and ability to create shots.

“You look at our front line, it’s massive now. You know, whatever Giannis is, Brook is seven feet, ‘Kuz’ is 6-9, 6-10, that’s a big lineup for us. Another scorer. He can really score off the dribble. Great (in transition). His transition numbers are right behind Giannis in transition off the bounce when he rebounds and breaks out,” Rivers said about Kuzma via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“He’s won a title, he knows what a sense of urgency looks like. I think it’s even, in some ways, more helpful now. He started off in heaven and then struggled, and now he feels like he’s back with a chance to win. I think sometimes, especially when you’re young and you win early, you think you can go move around and then you realize being on a winning team matters. And that’s all he’s talked about,” he added.

Kyle Kuzma already made his Milwaukee Bucks debut

Kyle Kuzma played in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 115-110 loss against the Atlanta Hawks last night. The one-time NBA champion came off the bench and produced 12 points and seven rebounds on 4-for-13 shooting from the field in 24 minutes of action.

His first play as a Milwaukee Buck was actually a turnover. However, he grew into the game with the help of his three-point shooting.

It’s unclear whether he’ll continue to come off the bench moving forward. Either way, Kuzma should feature prominently in the lineup in the next few games.
