The Milwaukee Bucks got back on track with a 128-104 win over the Toronto Raptors last Monday, in a game that saw a relatively quiet night for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Greek Freak only had 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field. However, he had 12 rebounds and 13 assists for his fourth-triple double of the 2024-25 season. It was also revealed that Giannis Antetokounmpo needed stitches on his finger after hurting himself in a block attempt in the second period.
According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Giannis Antetokounmpo also became the first player in NBA history to have an 11-12-13 line.
Damian Lillard led the team in scoring with 25 points on 7-for-12 shooting, and Bobby Portis, Gary Trent Jr., Brook Lopez, and Ryan Rollins added 20, 17, 16, and 10 points, respectively.
Milwaukee Bucks got hot from deep because of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s playmaking
The Milwaukee Bucks went 22-for-44 in their three-point attempts against the Toronto Raptors, which was their best three-point shooting game of the season. Nine different players scored at least one three-pointer, as the ball was moving well.
Head coach Doc Rivers gave Giannis Antetokounmpo, the one player who didn’t make a three-pointer, a huge shoutout for helping the team generate quality outside shots with his elite passing.
“He set a tone to start the game with his passing. When your best player does that, it becomes contagious. The ball just moves,” Rivers said about Antetokounmpo via The Athletic’s Eric Nehm.
“He also baited (defenders) a couple times. Very few people have the ability to do that,” he added.
