The Milwaukee Bucks have long been connected to all-star point guard, Damian Lillard. Way back in 2020, it was reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo had talked to Lillard about teaming up in Portland something fans are happy did not happen. However, this connection has fueled rumors that Lillard may one day force himself to Milwaukee. Those rumors continue to swirl today.

The Trailblazers have had a disappointing season. While Lillard has had an amazing season, the team around him simply hasn’t been good enough. As Lillard reaches the twilight of his career, many are wondering whether he will try and move to a contender to chase a ring. For the Bucks, the future of Khris Middleton is uncertain and they may be looking to fill the void in scoring that Middleton provides. It seems like a perfect marriage. The real question is, would Lillard leave Portland?

We are in an era of player movement but Lillard has long supported staying put. He has been vocal about being loyal to the city of Portland and wanting to build a championship roster with the team that drafted him. It would take a lot for him to want to push his way out. However, the Trailblazers could decide that moving Lillard is what is best for the franchise long term, and then Lillard’s opinions would be moot.

This is a storyline to watch this off-season. The Milwaukee Bucks would not be the only team that would benefit from Lillard’s services. It might also depend on where the Trailblazers land in the draft and what they think the likelihood of turning the team around quickly is. There is never a shortage of drama in the NBA and this looks to be the next big storyline for people to keep an eye on.
