The Milwaukee Bucks notched a 130-112 result over the Toronto Raptors at home on Friday night, and Damian Lillard played a key role in the win.
The eight-time NBA All-Star notched 26 points, three rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and four three-pointers. He has scored at least 25 points in five of his last seven appearances.
According to Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Lillard’s shooting percentage has gone up in the past few games, and it’s no coincidence the Milwaukee Bucks have won six of their last seven matches.
Lillard shot only 32.4 percent from the field when he started the 2025 calendar year coming off an illness. During their recent stretch of games, the 34-year-old guard has gone 59-for-111 from the field (53.2 percent).
Damian Lillard owes his recent success to Milwaukee Bucks assistant
Damian Lillard hit a low point when the Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this year. When he struggled with his shot, Lillard received useful advice from assistant Vin Baker, a former four-time NBA All-Star, to help him snap out of his funk.
“We had a really long phone conversation where he just was like it’s actually time for you to just go and be who you are…Don’t worry about nothing and be Dame Lillard. And it kind of freed me a little bit,” Lillard stated via Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
“I think that conversation really did something for me. So, that’s the only thing that’s been different, aside from, like I said, I do the same stuff. I stay in my routine. That was it,” he concluded.
