Damian Lillard was understandably on edge before his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks finally went down. So much happened between the time he demanded a trade away from the Portland Trail Blazers to when it was finally confirmed that he was headed to Milwaukee.
Toronto Raptors rising star OG Anunoby decided that it would be an opportune time to pull an epic prank on Dame.
Damian Lillard Got Spooked Before Milwaukee Bucks Trade
In a recent interview with Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, Lillard spilled the beans on how he got totally pranked by Anunoby right before his move to the Bucks was confirmed. Apparently, the Raptors swingman got him good:
“Everything was up in the air,” Lillard said. “… I just got a random text from OG [Anunoby]… He texted me like ‘Welcome to Toronto‘… I finally called him and he didn’t answer. Then he called me back, he was laughing.”

That’s hilarious. Apparently, Anunoby is quite the prankster, and this has to be up there in terms of his best gags of all time. He definitely got Lillard spooked.
Did Toronto Raptors Make Their Move?
For what it’s worth, Anunoby did not pluck this hypothetical scenario out of thin air. In fact, the Raptors were rumored to be one of a handful of teams that registered serious interest in Lillard before Milwaukee won the race. The Boston Celtics, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Chicago Bulls were all reportedly in the mix as well, but it is unclear what these teams were willing to part ways with in order to land Lillard.
What you can say for sure, however, is whatever these teams had on the table did not meet the Bucks’ valuation for the seven-time All-Star. Nevertheless, it’s no wonder that Anunoby’s prank was so believable.
