The NBA is still in the offseason, but that doesn’t mean Milwaukee Bucks star point guard Damian Lillard is not out there working. Lillard was even spotted on the court with Bucks rookie AJ Johnson, who is getting ready as well for his first season in the NBA.

“We’ve come a long way since draft night; now I think Bucks fans are all onboard with Aj Johnson”
“So much aura”
“Legitimately excited to see what AJ Johnson can glean from one of the game’s all-time greats. If AJJ is a point guard in the NBA, what could he pick up from Dame? 🤔”
“IN THE LAB! LOVE IT.”
The Bucks surprised a lot of people when they selected Johnson as the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
Whether the Bucks made a reach on Johnson or not, they are now committed to developing the young shooting guard, who opted to play abroad instead of playing college basketball in the United States. Johnson initially committed to play for the Texas Longhorns but later changed his mind, deciding to go to the Land Down Under to see action in Australia’s NBL. There, he averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in just 7.7 minutes per outing.
Johnson can turn his naysayers into believers beginning in the 2024-25 season, and picking the brain of Lillard and practicing with the future Hall of Famer are steps in the right direction for him.
