With the NBA still in the offseason, Milwaukee Bucks superstar point guard Damian Lillard has lots of time on his hands. Last Sunday, he chose to spend some of his free time to catch the Phoenix Mercury host the Chicago Sky in a WNBA game.
After the game, which the Mercury won, 86-68, Lillard got to have moments with Phoenix vet and future Hall of Famer Diana Taurasi and Sky super rookie Angel Reese.

It’s great to see elite NBA guys like Lillard show support for women’s basketball in person. He must have also loved what he saw in the Mercury-Sky matchup even though it was a one-sided affair. For one, Taurasi came up with a vintage performance. At 42 years old, Taurasi led her team in scoring with 23 points. Reese also had a spectacular performance, albeit in a losing effort. She finished with a monster double-double of 19 points and 20 rebounds.
Lillard and the Bucks will soon be back in the lab, with Milwaukee’s 2024-25 season opener just a little over two months away from taking place.
During her first season in Milwaukee uniform, Lillard averaged 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from behind the arc. Lillard, who turned 34 years old last July, will look to prove that he’s got plenty of gas left in the tank – just like Taurasi.
