Damian Lillard and Malik Beasley combined for 67 out of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 128 points against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. Needless to say, it was the Bucks’ new-found one-two punch that led the team to a blowout win against the Raptors on their own home court.
Beasley, in particular, came out with one of the best performances of his career, sinking no less than eight three-pointers on the evening to help take down Toronto.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Malik Beasley Speaks Out on On-Court Relationship With Damian Lillard
Beasley had to tip his hat to Lillard after the former’s career outing. After all, it was Dame who assisted six out of Beasley’s eight triples against the Raptors:
“Just for him to build that trust in me is huge. We’re out there together every night,” Beasley said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “So now we’re building that chemistry, and we’re having fun out there. That’s the main thing.”
Beasley may have had the hot hand, but Dame wasn’t so bad himself. In fact, Lillard scored 37 points on the night, outshining Beasley’s 39-point eruption.
At one point in the third quarter, Beasley drained his fifth triple of the evening. According to Beasley himself, it was at that point that Dame decided to playfully call him out for not passing him the ball:
“He was in the corner open,” Beasley said with a smile. “And (Lillard) was like, ‘Ay, Beas. I’m hot too now.’”
You love to hear it. The chemistry is slowly (but surely) coming together for the Bucks now.
