The Milwaukee Bucks were given a proper scare when Damian Lillard suddenly popped up on the injury report ahead of Wednesday’s crucial showdown against the Boston Celtics. Apparently, the seven-time All-Star is currently dealing with a mysterious hip injury, which put his availability for this marquee matchup into question.
Milwaukee Bucks Upgrade Damian Lillard’s Injury Status
Initially, Lillard was listed as probable to play due to a left oblique strain. In truth, there was little doubt that Dame was not going to be able to suit up on Wednesday, especially considering the magnitude of this game.
True enough, the Bucks have now upgraded Lillard’s status to available, which means that he should be able to take on his usual workload against Boston.
The extent of Lillard’s injury is currently unclear but it is significant enough for him to be listed on the injury report. However, the good news is that this issue won’t force him to miss any time.
Bucks beat reporter Eric Nehm of The Athletic shared a clip from Monday’s win over the Washington Wizards where he suspects Lillard sustained the injury. This was late in the fourth quarter of Milwaukee’s 142-129 win:

Hopefully, this injury does not progress any further than it has after Wednesday’s tilt against Boston.
