The Milwaukee Bucks have not had the full services of their Big 3 over the last two games. Khris Middleton was given the night off on Sunday in their win over the Sacramento Kings, while Giannis Antetokounmpo was a late scratch on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Giannis’ absence, however, was undeniably much more felt as the Bucks embarrassingly fell to the Cavs in a 135-95 blowout.
Damian Lillard Speaks Out on Emergence of Milwaukee Bucks’ Big 3
Apart from the past two games, however, the fact of the matter is that Milwaukee’s super-trio have had a lot of time on the court together. Giannis and Lillard have missed just two and three games, respectively, while Middleton has long been free of his early-season minutes limit.
According to Lillard, the Bucks have benefitted significantly from how their Big 3 have been able to put a lot of reps in together:
“I think had we not been healthy and still trying to adjust to it, it’d probably be a longer process to get comfortable – and we probably wouldn’t win some of these games without us on the floor,” Lillard told Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We’ve all had our moments, big moment. We needed that. I think it’s been great we’ve all been pretty much healthy.”
Thankfully, neither of Milwaukee’s three stars have dealt with significant injuries at the mid-way point of the season. Let’s just hope that this is the case the rest of the way.
