Without a doubt, Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard is one of the players who have defined this era of the NBA. His consistent ability to knock down shots from way behind the arc and excel in space whether it’s off the dribble or via catch-and-shoot situations will be talked about for a long time even after he hangs up his basketball sneakers.
All that being said, Lillard feels as though he’s being underappreciated. As Lillard explained it during a recent appearance on the Club 520 Podcast, his consistency affected how he’s being viewed. Being so good for so long has left fans and the media neglecting much of his body of work.
“They definitely don’t talk about it,” Lillard said (as transcribed by The Sports Rush).
“They act like I don’t be doing what I had been doing… It ain’t been that many people that been here the whole time since I have been in the league that just been doing it over and over. But I think people just get bored with consistency… The season before last I averaged almost 33 a game. I have been over 25 for damn near 8-9 years.”

Nevertheless, Lillard’s numbers back up the claim that he is simply one of the greatest shooters and guards in the history of the league. Lillard is an eight-time NBA All-Stsar and part of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. He has averaged at least 30 points per game in two seasons and at least 25 points per contest in seven different campaigns.
