The Milwaukee Bucks gave Damian Lillard a night off on Thursday after he pretty much carried the team to a victory on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.
Giannis Antetokounmpo got tossed in the third quarter after being whistled for his second technical foul, and while Dame still got a lot of help from the rest of the squad, it was the seven-time All-NBA point guard who had to do much of the heavily lifting for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Garners High Praise

One player who also had a key role in Milwaukee’s win on Wednesday night was Brook Lopez. The former All-Star big man came up with big plays down the stretch on both ends of the floor, including a clutch triple with less than a minute remaining to give his team some much-needed breathing room.
After the game, however, Lopez opted to heap praise on Lillard and the latter’s heroics against the Pistons:
“He just owns those moments. He relishes those moments,” Lopez said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “So, as a big, I’m just trying to put him in the best position possible. He’s already in a great position just being the player he is, but, you know, I’m just trying to set good screens, get him open, and he takes it from there. So I have one job, really, a pretty easy one. Just got to focus on that, and then I get to watch him be incredible.”

Having one superstar teammate is great, and this has how life has been for Lopez playing alongside Antetokounmpo over the past several years. However, having two of them now that Dame is in the picture is an absolute treat for the veteran center. As Lopez said, his job is much easier with Lillard around.
