Despite the demands of his day job, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Damian Lillard is still able to make time for his music. A testament to this fact is how Lillard, aka Dame D.O.L.L.A., recently released a new five-track EP entitled Life Lately.
This new release follows Dame’s fifth studio album, Don D.O.L.L.A., which hit shelves just two months ago.

In a recent interview, Lillard shed some light on what this new EP means to him. While he did not delve into the details of each song, Dame made it abundantly clear that his music is an essential part of who he is:
“My music is my ultimate expression,” Lillard told the Journal Sentinel Tuesday. “Some people journal, I write music. Especially at this stage in my career, I like to be able to vent, I like to be able to share in a creative way.”
Lillard has not had any shortage of significant life experiences of late, which could explain the amount of music he’s been pumping out. Dame dropped his fifth studio album a couple of months back and obviously, so much has happened since.
Late in the summer, the Portland Trail Blazers struck a deal with the Bucks that saw Lillard take his talents to Milwaukee. Bidding farewell to the organization and the city that took him in for the past 11 years must not have been easy for the seven-time All-Star.
On a personal level, Lillard is currently dealing with an ugly divorce from estranged wife Kay’La Lillard. The split has elevated to a full-on custody battle for their three children. It’s probably safe to say that Dame has a few thoughts about this matter as well.
