The Milwaukee Bucks will have to explore all avenues ahead of the 2025 NBA trade deadline. Some names on the trade market could be interesting and some names will not fit this roster at all.
Milwaukee this season is 24-17 and they are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks front office will have to decide if they want to pursue a championship this season or if they are not good enough to compete for one. Outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, there are questions about this roster in general.
Chicago Bulls Guard Zach LaVine Mentioned Once Again As a Player For the Milwaukee Bucks To Trade For At the Deadline
This season, Chicago has a 19-25 record and is the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are most likely not going to be one of the top eight teams in the Eastern Conference this season.
There is a chance that the Chicago Bulls could be trading some of its big names at the NBA trade deadline. Dalton Sell of behindthebuckpass.com listed Bulls guard Zach LaVine as another potential trade option for the Milwaukee Bucks at the NBA trade deadline. Sell said:
“Zach LaVine hasn’t been linked to the Bucks in the rumor mill officially, but a few analysts have toyed with the idea of the team adding him. On paper, the fit does make some sense, but the Bucks would run into the same problem as they would with a hypothetical Beal trade, and that’s LaVine’s defense or lack thereof. He’s never been known for his play on that end.
What makes LaVine more appealing than Beal is that he’s younger, cheaper, more athletic and simply a better player at this point in time. After spending most of last season injured, LaVine has bounced back in a major way, averaging 23.7 points and 4.6 assists while shooting 45.1 percent from 3-point territory. A third fiddle like that behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard would be electric.”
LaVine has played in 39 games this season for the Chicago Bulls and he is also 29 years old. Zach LaVine would be another good third option for the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are missing a reliable scorer outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
LaVine would bring a different dimension to the Bucks. However, Milwaukee would also probably have to part ways with players like Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton. Not having enough NBA Draft capital could cost the Milwaukee Bucks to make a trade for him anyway.
Rare For a Divisional Rival Trade
It is rare for a divisional rival to make a trade with each other, but the Brooklyn Nets decided to make a trade with the New York Knicks this offseason and sent Mikal Bridges from the Nets to the Knicks. Theoretically, the Bulls are not contenders anytime soon, and trading Zach LaVine to the Milwaukee Bucks would not hurt Chicago in the short term anyway.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, the Indiana Pacers, the Detroit Pistons, and the Milwaukee Bucks are all in the Central Division and can all possibly make the playoffs this season. The Chicago Bulls could be the only team in that division who misses the playoffs. Chicago trading Zach LaVine to Milwaukee or elsewhere would signal the start of a rebuild for the Bulls.
