The Milwaukee Bucks entered Wednesday’s contest with a lot of fire under their belly. They needed to avenge their NBA In-Season Tournament semifinal loss to the Indiana Pacers, who incidentally, also dealt them with a loss in an early-season encounter.
The Bucks got their revenge on Wednesday with a 140-126 win, which saw Milwaukee cut down the series deficit against their Central Division rivals to 2-1 in favor of Indiana.
Bobby Portis Speaks Out on Milwaukee Bucks’ Win Vs. Pacers
Bobby Portis finished Wednesday’s victory with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, with three triples, two rebounds, and two assists in 23 minutes of action. The veteran wasn’t actually able to remain on the court until the final buzzer after getting himself ejected in the fourth quarter.
Despite being forced to an early shower, Portis made sure to still sound off on Milwaukee’s big win over the Pacers — one that had been a long time coming:
“Obviously we watched the film, we know what beats us, we know what’s been hurting us all season and we’re trying to correct it,” Portis said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “It’s the part of the season where you start clearing up things and I think we’ve been clearing up a lot of things, especially over the last couple games, just trying to get better, trying to make strides and trying to get better throughout the season. That’s the biggest thing. Obviously their second-chance points allows them to get more threes off the rebound, kick-out threes, and it’s just energy plays as well to keep them in the game.”
You just know that the Bucks came prepared on Wednesday night and they executed their game plan well. As Portis said, Milwaukee learned from their past mistakes to make themselves a better side. Their hard work paid off on the court.
