The Milwaukee Bucks star guard AJ Green got his high school jersey retired yesterday at Cedar Falls. Green is officially the first Cedar Falls Tiger to have his high school number retired.

Green is the definition of a Midwest guy. He went to Northern Iowa after becoming the all-time leading scorer in Cedar Falls high school history and being ranked a 4-star recruit. He went to the University of Iowa because his father was an assistant there.

After three seasons at the University of Northern Iowa, the shooting guard has officially entered the transfer portal. He is the son of Kyle Green, who served as an assistant coach at Iowa State University.

He received the prestigious designation of the 2022 Larry Bird MVC Player of the Year. Additionally, he is recognized as a two-time MVC Player of the Year, highlighting his exceptional performance and contributions to the sport.

Green signed a two-year contract with the Bucks on July 1, 2022. He distinguished himself as the first basketball player from the University of Northern Iowa to enter the NBA, having signed a two-way contract as an undrafted free agent with the Bucks in 2022.

He demonstrates a strong ability to shoot three-point shots at an impressive percentage and possesses solid defensive skills. The Bucks consider him an exemplary candidate to develop into a proficient three-and-D guard in the league.
