The Milwaukee Bucks got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 132-121 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. It was a nice bounce-back performance following Thursday’s deflating overtime loss against a shorthanded Chicago Bulls side.
It was another close game for the Bucks on Saturday as they battled a Hawks side that had a lot of firepower in its arsenal. The Bucks stepped it up when it mattered the most, though, as they secured another important win against an Eastern Conference foe.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Adrian Griffin Speaks Out on Hawks Win
Bucks coach Adrian Griffin was understandably delighted with his team’s victory. The Hawks were led by their dynamic duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, who combined for 62 points on the evening. Atlanta pushed Milwaukee all the way to the edge, but as always, the Bucks held on and secured the win in crunch time.
“This seems to be a theme,” Griffin said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “In the fourth quarter, we really buckle down, and that’s important. I always say, the fourth quarter has to be your best quarter, especially the last five minutes, and our team has really bought into that.”
Saturday’s win is a clear testament to Griffin’s statement. The Bucks ended up outscoring their opponents 33-23 in the final frame, which included an 18-7 run to close out the game.
This was another case of a win being a bit too close for comfort for Milwaukee, but once again, they showcased their resiliency to mark their 14th win of the season.
