The Milwaukee Brewers have parted ways with Walker McKinven, their run-prevention coordinator. For almost a decade, McKinven was part of the Brewers’ coaching unit. McKinven played a vital role for the team, helping them boost their defensive gameplay. As a former MLB player, he worked his way to becoming a successful manager over the years. McKinven worked with Pat Murphy and guided several other players throughout their careers.
Walker McKinven helped catchers like William Contreras improve his career. This news came as a shock to several Brewers fans, especially when they heard that he was going to join the White Sox. Parting ways with the Brewers will not be easy after his long stint. However, McKinven will hold a better spot in Chicago.
The White Sox have several changes to the team and will be guided by Will Venable. Venable will be in his first year with the White Sox. The 42-year-old said that he will be taking in McKinven as his right hand.
It’s a huge upgrade for McCkinven as he embarks on a new journey. However, it’s going to be a challenging one since he must train a struggling team. The White Sox were the worst team last season. McKinven will have his hands full training a young team. On the other hand, it will be a huge loss for the Milwaukee Brewers as they lose a top coach.
Milwaukee Brewers Are Predicted To Part Ways With Willy Adames
The Brewers are predicted to part ways with Willy Adames before the 2025 season. Adames has been a great shortstop, but it is rumored that the Brewers will let him go. The team is keen on making the playoffs next season again. That said, they would want to spice things up by bringing in new players.
Letting go of Adames will not be a wise decision for the team. The Brewers have not offered Adames a contract yet, and several other teams are coming into the pitcher to pursue the slugger. It’s been a rough ride for Milwaukee, especially after dropping their series against the New York Mets in the Wild Card Round.
Even if the franchise wants to bring back Adames, they will need to deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have emerged as favorites to sign Adames this offseason. Rumors are that the Dodgers will pursue Adames for a long-term contract worth $189 million. The Brewers need to act quickly if they want to get back Adames.
