With the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Chase Anderson spent several seasons starting games on the mound. Afterwards he bounced around between the Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, and Cincinnati Reds from 2020-2022 and most recently was traded back to the Tampa Bay Rays. In 2022, he spent a month of the season in the Rays minor league system.
The Rays traded for Chase Anderson on May 3, 2023 after they had to place high leverage reliever Pete Fairbanks on the injured list. Anderson immediately was placed on the active roster and after a long day of travel he made his Rays debut later that night.

For ex Milwaukee Brewer Chase Anderson, his debut with the Tampa Bay Rays will forever be memorable because he collected his first career save that game.
Chase Anderson’s Rays debut came against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Shane McClanahan dominated through the first six innings and then the ball was handed over to Chase. He went on to pitch the final three innings and recorded a three inning save in what ended up being an 8-1 ball game.
Following the game the Rays celebrated this event in the clubhouse by giving Chase Anderson the game ball and a shot of tequila. To make things even better Anderson then shared the joy in a stadium hallway afterwards with his wife Anna and his two kids.
When asked about picking up his first career save Chase Anderson had this to say, “I’ve been around a long time. These things don’t come around, as you know. My career is closer to the end than the beginning, so I don’t take it for granted. And I was excited to be able to contribute to this great team.”
