Help is on the way for the Milwaukee Brewers’ starting rotation. They have been navigating the early part of the season with a patchwork staff, relying on players like Elvin Rodriguez and Tyler Alexander to cover innings. Thankfully players like Brandon Woodruff, Tobias Myers, and Aaron Ashby are making progress in their recoveries.
Tobias Myers could return to the Milwaukee Brewers for the San Francisco Giants series

From Monday April 21 through Thursday April 24, the Brewers will play four games against the San Francisco Giants. Per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Milwaukee is anticipating that Tobias Myers will be ready for that series. Myers next rehab start is on Friday, April 18, where he is expected to throw 65-70 pitches. This puts him potentially in line to start either the third or fourth game against the Giants, or possibly pushing him back to the weekend series against the Cardinals.
Brandon Woodruff is close to five inning outings

Recently, Brandon Woodruff began a 30 day minor league rehab assignment with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds. He tossed 3.2 innings in his debut outing on 66 pitches and hit 95 MPH on a few occasions. The plan going forward is a four inning outing, followed by multiple five inning outings. Per Adam McCalvy, Milwaukee wants to make sure he bounces back appropriately following lengthier outings.
Aaron Ashby is close to facing live hitters

Aaron Ashby, who is dealing with an oblique issue, is the farthest away from returning, but is expected to face live hitters soon. According to Jack Stern at Brewer Fanatic, Ashby will throw a bullpen Tuesday, April 15, report to Arizona to face live hitters, and then make some extended spring training outings.
