Milwaukee Brewers fans reference May 21 as Willy Adames day. The reason for this is because on that date in 2021 the organization executed a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays to make him a Brewer. Fast forward two years later and coincidentally the two teams were finishing up a three game series at Tropicana Field.
On May 21, 2023 Willy Adames batted cleanup for the Milwaukee Brewers. During his first at-bat he hit a home run to dead center field. After rounding the bases he also did Randy Arozarena’s signature pose.

Willy Adames has been the Milwaukee Brewers best hitter since the trade.
Since Willy Adames joined Milwaukee he has the most home runs among all shortstops with 59. Among his teammates he has the most RBI’s (180), hits (273), and doubles (62) over that same time span. He’s also second in runs (165) and walks (118).
There is no denying that when Willy Adames is performing at the plate the Brewers tend to win games. This year he has eight home runs and the Brew Crew have won each game that he has homered in. Hopefully he can continue to produce at the plate like he has over the past few seasons.
Overall Willy Adames has been an incredible addition to the team. It’s been fun to watch him shine at the plate while also playing incredible defense as a shortstop.
