The Milwaukee Brewers signed Rhys Hoskins last off-season to a two year, $34 million deal with a mutual option for a third season. Beforehand he had spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Phillies, but didn’t play in 2023 after sustaining a season ending ACL injury during Spring Training. This year Hoskins is trending towards being activated off the 10-day IL just in time to face his former team.
Rhys Hoskins was a very productive hitter with the Philadelphia Phillies.

After being drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Phillies Rhys Hoskins ended up making his big league debut in 2017. He appeared in 50 games that year and finished fourth in rookie of the year voting. Across his next five seasons every year he had an OPS+ greater than 100 and only once did he fail to post an OPS north of .800 (2022 – .794).
With the Milwaukee Brewers Rhys Hoskins picked up right where he left off.

Despite not playing in 2023 Rhys Hoskins has shown no signs of rust in 2024. During his first year with the Brewers he currently has a .233/.340/.474/.813 line with nine home runs and 27 RBI. His power presence in the lineup combined with his on-base ability has been a great addition for Milwaukee.
Rhys Hoskins is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but is trending toward returning in time for the Philadelphia Phillies series.

On May 14 the Brewers placed Rhys Hoskins on the 10-day IL with a hamstring injury. The injury occurred after a base hit and he came up grabbing the back of his leg. An initial 2-4 week timeline was provided, but per Sophia Minnaert he is hopeful to return by June 3 in order to face his former organization.
Brewers injury updates:
