The Milwaukee Brewers minor league affiliate for Double-A is the Biloxi Shuckers. That team is currently loaded with top 30 prospects including Jackson Chourio, Jeferson Quero, Freddy Zamora, Felix Valerio, Carlos Rodriguez (pitcher), Abner Uribe, and Tyler Black. Not surprisingly Tyler Black has been a great offensive contributor, but one statistic that catches the eye is his stolen base totals.

Milwaukee Brewers prospect Tyler Black ranks first in the Southern League for stolen bases.
After just 21 games, the Brewers seventh ranked prospect in Tyler Black has swiped 15 bases on 16 total attempts. This is not only a new career high for him, but he ranks first in the Southern League in that category. Nasim Nunez is the next closest with 13.

Another big part of Tyler Black’s game so far has been drawing walks. On the season he has drawn 22 free passes, which is the second most in the Southern League. Overall he is slashing .258/.468/.515 with five home runs and 15 RBI.
Last year Tyler Black showed lots of promise as a prospect, but injuries both during the minor league season as well as during the Arizona Fall League hindered his development. If he can stay healthy and continue to perform at a high level his prospect status will skyrocket.
