Earlier this week, former Milwaukee Brewers pitcher C.C. Sabathia was one of three players nominated to the Baseball Hall of Fame for the class of 2025. The other two players were Billy Wagner and Ichiro Suzuki.

With Sabathia now in the hall of fame, it is going to be interesting to see down the line which other former Milwaukee Brewers players will get in. One potential name to watch for moving forward is Prince Fielder.

Eric Fischer of reviewingthebrew.com wrote about several different former Brewers players who could potentially be next to get into Cooperstown, New York. One of the former players he mentioned was first baseman Prince Fielder. Fischer said:
“Prince Fielder also began his MLB career with the Brewers, playing with the big league club from 2005 to 2011. As a core part of the revitalized wave of baseball in Milwaukee, Prince Fielder was outstanding. With Milwaukee, he would make 3 All Star Game appearances, and three more after leaving, two of his three Silver Slugger Awards, the 2007 NL Home Run leader, and 2009 MLB RBI leader. Of course, he was also an integral part of Milwaukee returning to the postseason in both 2008 and 2011.
Prince Fielder may fall victim of not being in the league long enough, having his career cut short in 2016 with a neck injury. As such, he finished his career with a .283 average, 319 home runs, and 1,028 RBI. Fielder is already enshrined in the American Family Field Walk of Fame and the Brewers Wall of Honor. In his first year of eligibility, Fielder received less than 5% of BBWAA votes, and fell of the ballot, meaning he too would need the Eras Committee to vote him in down the road.”
In the two seasons that the Brewers made the playoffs with Fiedler, they lost in the NLDS to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 (3-1), In the 2011 postseason, Milwaukee beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLDS and then lost to the eventual World Series Champions, the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS (4-2).
Prince Fielder was a big reason why they made it to the playoffs in both of those seasons. There was no doubt that he was a good player throughout his MLB career, but the injuries might be the reason why he may not get into Cooperstown.
