The other day, the Brewers started a three-game series against the Blue Jays. The Milwaukee Brewers went on to win 3-1. Last night in game two, the Toronto Blue Jays pitching staff was fantastic, allowing just five hits in a 3-0 win. Now the final matchup of this series will determine the winner. Milwaukee’s starting pitcher Carlos Rodriguez made his MLB debut, and although he struggled at times, this start could have been worse.
The Brewers are 39-28 after the loss. They’re six and a half games ahead of the second-place Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central division. Toronto moves to 33-34 with the win. The Blue Jays are now tied for third place with the Boston Red Sox, and although they’re 14 games back from the first-place New York Yankees, Toronto will look to move up in the standings as much as possible before the all-star break.
Milwaukee Brewers Powerless 3-0 Loss to the Blue Jays

During the first at-bat of this ball game, Carlos Rodriguez recorded his first Major League strikeout against Spencer Horwitz. In the bottom half of the first inning, Blue Jays starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi escaped a bases-loaded jam as Gary Sánchez grounded out to third base. Toronto would get on the board first during the top of the second inning when right fielder George Springer hit an RBI single to right-center field. Rodriguez escaped a bases-loaded jam during the top of the third.
Brewers Offense at a Standstill During This Loss

At the top of the fourth inning, Horwitz would get his revenge on Rodriguez after striking out in the first as he lined an RBI single to right-center field. A few innings later during the bottom of the eighth, although both Christian Yelich and Willy Adames successfully attempted a double steal, Milwaukee could not get a run home to cut the deficit, or even tie the game up. Toronto’s catcher Danny Jansen ripped an RBI double near the left field wall to increase the Blue Jays’ lead. The Brewers could not get anything going offensively as they would fall 3-0.
