The Milwaukee Brewers just keep on winning. Pat Murphy’s squad survived the Cincinnati Reds for the third time in a row on Saturday, as the Brewers eked out a thrilling 5-4 victory on the road to move just a win away this Sunday to complete a sweep of their National League Central division rivals.
Milwaukee had an early after a three-run third inning but the game was tied at 4-4 entering the ninth inning. Jackson Chourio then hit a solo home run that went 384 feet deep in the bottom of that frame to put Milwaukee in front for good.

“We’re not saying we’re more talented than other teams, we’re just finding a way with somebody different every night,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said. “We’re confident in everybody.”
Brewers escape with a close win to keep win streak alive
Chourio had quite a battle in that at-bat against Reds reliever Justin Wilson. After taking a ball on the first pitch, Chourio got behind after a strike and a foul ball. Two foul balls and balls later, Chourio finally got the better of Wilson when he sent a 97 MPH four-seamer out of the park for what would become the game-winning run.
Frankie Montas started for the Brewers, allowing four earned runs on seven hits with three walks allowed and four strikeouts through six innings of work on the mound. Aaron Ashby, got the pitching win after two scoreless innings in relief of Montas before Devin Williams got the save.
The Brewers, who have won five games in a row entering Sunday, are now at 80-56, 10 games in front of everyone in the NL Central.
