After losing the series finale against the Oakland Athletics and the opener versus the San Francisco Giants, the Milwaukee Brewers are on a roll again. They took down the Giants in each of the final two contests of a three-leg set in Milwaukee, including Thursday’s 6-0 victory.
It was one of those wins where Brewers manager Pat Murphy felt truly proud about his team’s resiliency amid doubts from other people in Milwaukee.
Via Steve Megargee of the Associated Press:
“This team, as soon as you think, ‘Ahh, I don’t know about this club. They don’t have this guy. Who’s this guy? Theyey don’t have enough of that,’ they’ve got enough of something,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said. “Because they keep posting and keep competing.”

The Brewers put on a show in the finale against the Giants

In the finale against the Giants, the Brewers got on the board first when Garrett Mitchell launched a solo home run in the second inning. In the same inning, Blake Perkins hit a sacrifice fly that drove Gary Sanchez, giving Milwaukee a 2-0 lead. William Contreras then had a highlight play in the third inning, as he capitalized on a fielding misplay by San Francisco to steal home and extend Milwaukee’s lead to three runs. The Brewers scored two more runs in the fourth inning from Perkins and Jackson Chourio.
The Brewers’ offense generated eight hits and eight walks while stealing a couple of bases.
On the mound, Aaron Civale delivered the goods for Milwaukee, as he tossed seven scoreless innings with just two hits and two walks allowed while striking out seven Giants hitters. Aaron Ashby got the job done and ensured Civale’s gem won’t go to waste by going perfect in two innings while striking out three hitters.
