The Milwaukee Brewers have won four of their last five games behind some recently awakened bats on offense. That being said, Milwaukee’s lineup has been underwhelming so far this season, leaving many fans (and manager Pat Murphy) frustrated.
Christian Yelich blasted two home runs in the Brewers’ most recent win against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was his first two-home run game since September of 2023. However, he is still hitting just .192/.285/.363 on the season.
But as Milwaukee’s highest-paid player (and the team leader in home runs and RBI), Yelich is going to be in the lineup just about every day whether he improves or not.
However, a couple of young infielders that the Brewers counted on to make significant strides in 2025 have not done so as of yet.
Milwaukee Brewers Infielders Joey Ortiz and Caleb Durbin Have Struggled Offensively

Last season, in his first year with Milwaukee, Joey Ortiz played third base and hit .239/.329/.398 with 11 home runs, 60 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. When Willy Adames departed in free agency, Ortiz was named his successor at shortstop.
But the former Baltimore Orioles prospect has not hit well since moving back to his old position. This year, Ortiz is hitting .173/.228/.237 with two home runs and seven RBI.
Additionally, the Brewers have not found a solid answer offensively from the third base position either. Caleb Durbin, who has been playing there every day recently, is hitting just .186/.273/.258 with a home run and 15 RBI.
It has been clear for some time that Milwaukee needs to do something to get a spark going on the left side of their infield, and some fans think one of their former favorites could be the answer.
Milwaukee Brewers Fans Would Like to See Orlando Arcia Return

Former Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Orlando Arcia has not been having a great season himself. In 14 games, he is hitting .194/.219/.226 with an RBI. Earlier today, he was designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves to make room for Ronald Acuna Jr., who is returning from injury.
And Brewers fans would like to see their team give him another shot:

I would love to see Orlando Arcia back in a Brewers jersey.

I talked about Joey Ortiz’s swing and broke it down today l, and it may be heavily related to confidence. He hit a bomb to left field and followed it up with a sac bunt while the 3B was in. If the Brewers want to give him a reset, Orlando Arcia for two weeks may be an option https://t.co/G22tJWmEka

Arica, interestingly (and, perhaps, deflatingly) is still Milwaukee’s all-time leader in postseason home runs (with four).
He played for the Brewers from 2016-2021 and hit .244/.293/.364 during that time. In 2023, with the Braves, he made his only career All-Star team, hitting .264/.321/.420 with 17 home runs and 65 RBI.
