The Milwaukee Brewers offseason so far has caught no one by surprise. Key departures in Willy Adames and Devin Williams were expected while they added one proven veteran to the starting rotation and several players who are not yet established in Major League Baseball. Meanwhile, there has been buzz in the National League Central as the Cubs, Reds, Cardinals, and even the Pirates have been active.

Are the Milwaukee Brewers’ moves enough to stay on top of the National League Central in 2025?
Despite the departures of stars Willy Adames and Devin Williams, the Brewers roster is still set up nicely to compete for a third consecutive National League Central title. The bullpen proved to still be elite a season ago when Williams missed more than the first half of the season and a core of Trevor Megill, Jared Koenig, Bryan Hudson, Abner Uribe, Joel Payamps, and others are all set to return in 2025. Additionally, the anticipated return of Brandon Woodruff promises to provide a significant boost to the starting rotation.
One new challenge in 2025 will be figuring out how to replace the leadership and offensive production that left when Adames signed with the San Francisco Giants. Milwaukee has infielders Joey Ortiz, Caleb Durbin, Tyler Black, and Oliver Dunn all anxious to contribute. Should none of those options pan out, they could always make an in season trade.
