The Milwaukee Brewers were unable to sweep the Oakland Athletics on Sunday, August 25 as they lost by a score of 4-3. In this game starting pitcher Frankie Montas made his return to the Coliseum and had to deal with an extremely inconsistent strike zone from home plate umpire CB Bucknor. Following the game Bucknor was heavily criticized.

After that sequence the Athletics put up three more runs via a base hit and two RBI SAC flies. All four of Oakland’s runs were scored in that inning and they went on to win by a run. CB Bucknor’s missed strike three was a pivotal moment in this game.
Milwaukee Brewers fans heavily criticize CB Bucknor following the bases loaded walk.
On social media several fans were not happy about the missed call from CB Bucknor. A challenge system is in the works in the Minor Leagues and in this particular instance having that in place would be nice in order to get the correct call on the field.
CB Bucknor is just straight up ruining this game

A call or two missed here or there, and close calls at that, are part of the game. This isn’t baseball when a guy is this bad. And he’s like this every game.
