The Milwaukee Brewers took game one of their series on the road against the Boston Red Sox on Friday night. With the game between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals being rained out, Milwaukee now holds division leads of two-and-a-half and five-and-a-half games over each of them, respectively. They also lead the Pittsburgh Pirates by six games and the Cincinnati Reds by eight-and-a-half games.
The night was highlighted by solid offensive performances, a much-needed sight after they dropped their final game against the Miami Marlins 1-0. Christian Yelich had three hits and Willy Adames went two-for-four with a two-RBI double.
Milwaukee was also helped out by the stellar pitching of Bryse Wilson. Even though he did not get the start, he came in with two outs in the first, pitched five and one-third innings, and allowed just two runs while striking out seven.
The star of the night, though, as has been the case for much of the season, was catcher William Contreras.
Milwaukee Brewers Catcher William Contreras Hit a Home Run Over the Famous Green Monster

William Contreras is having the best offensive season of his career. He is currently hitting .337/.412/.538 with eight home runs and 42 RBI. His 43 runs scored lead the National League.
Last night, Contreras went two-for-for with a mammoth two-run home run that cleared the famous Green Monster in left field at Fenway Park.

As seen in the video, the ball destroyed a bucket of popcorn that belong to a couple of Red Sox fans. After the home run, Brewers television analyst Tim Dillard brought the fans a new bucket of popcorn and found out that they are a newlywed couple.
So after the game, Apple TV and Contreras teamed up to do something amazing.
Milwaukee Brewers Catcher William Contreras Goes Viral for Gesture to Red Sox Fans

After the game, the Apple TV crew brought the two fans down onto the field. Contreras autographed the popcorn bucket (over the mark that the ball left on it) and then posed for a picture with the newlyweds:
I love baseball.

So, we invited the fans onto the field postgame, and William signed the popcorn bucket for the newly wed couple — right on the scuff his ball made on the bucket. ✍🏻… pic.twitter.com/chBEaM0IVp

It may not be a large gesture, but it sure was fun and it is a memory those fans will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Perhaps Contreras picked up a couple extra votes for the All-Star game once voting opens.
