Milwaukee Brewers News: Left-handed pitcher Thomas Pannone was designated for assignment last week. Simultaneously the club also removed Matt Bush from the 40-man roster. Bush has since been released by the Brew Crew and Pannone has elected to return to the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO).
Thomas Pannone made just one Major League appearance with Milwaukee. He pitched against the Pittsburgh Pirates in a game where himself and Matt Bush were the only two available pitchers in the bullpen. Over 2.2 innings he gave up two earned runs, five hits, one walk, and struck out four.
With being DFA’d by the Brewers he has elected to not remain with the organization and return to one of their minor league affiliates in which he was previously pitching in Triple-A Nashville. Rather he will report to a familiar place overseas with the Kia Tigers.
Milwaukee Brewers News: Thomas Pannone has signed with the Kia Tigers in the KBO.
29 year old Thomas Pannone spent the second of the 2022 season with the Kia Tigers. He tossed 82.2 innings over 14 starts with a 2.72 ERA. He struck out 21% of batters faced. This ultimately led to the Brewers taking a flier on him and signing him to a minor league deal.
If Pannone can go back overseas and perform well again he could very well earn another opportunity next season with a big league club.
